When I think about a time to plant, I laugh a little ,as I remember
how the Federal Government once solved erosion problems for Mississippi's
farmers, by importing a little green vine called Kudzu from Asia.
Everyone planted it and soon the soil held, and the farmers were
thankful , but only for a short time.
In a few years they couldn't see the barn, power lines became
topiaries, fields were swallowed , trees disappeared under the ever
spreading Kudzu vines.
You couldn't stop it, no matter how you fought against the Kudzu.
Poison failed, burning didn't work, it just got bigger and bigger,
covering everything in its' path.Even today with our modern chemical
arsenal- it's there- miles and miles of Kudzu. The farmers are gone, but
it's still there.
Those of us working to bring our men home from captivity are a lot like
that Kudzu vine. We are a noxious weed to those trying to stop the spread
of truth concerning our live POWs, but like the hardy Asian Kudzu vine ,we
will keep growing, spreading everywhere for as long as it takes to bring
them home.
