Here's to the grunt at the front of the line
and the soldier who brings up the rear -
Here's to the men and the women who serve
wherever it seems danger's near.
Here's to the SEAL, the pilot, the cook,
the mechanics who work on the plane -
here's to the nurse, the doctor, the corpsman
they bandage and soothe every pain.
My thanks to the sailor, the airman, the sarge -
the gunner, Marine, chopper crew -
here's to them all,
our daughters and sons -
they do it for me
