Operation Just Cause
...for as long as it takes

Preceded In Death
Christina Sharik

In the paper today
I read a notice about a woman
who had passed away
As I read a little farther on
It said she was preceded in death
by a son
who had died in Vietnam.
I thought -
How sad, to have outlived
a child by 30 years -
but now they will be reunited
in that wonderful Temple of Tears
that washes away all sense of time
and reunites with Love sublime.

God speed to her
as her new journey begins -
she will be greeted by one of his grins
and to her, he will seem the same.
He will say "Mother" when she
whispers his name.
She is gone
but he has cleared her way -
He has walked Point for her ------
until today.
