They're the sons of the POW
The sons of the MIA -
I wonder what their dads would think
If they were here today.
Their wives and families suffered
in a long and drawn out way -
I think of them when I think of the War
on a cloudy winter day.
And the vets on the Wall are smiling down
their pain and suffering's done -
and what would the veteran have to say
to the daughter or the son?
"Live well, be strong and happy -
and to yourself be true -
for nothing on earth can equal
the pride that I have in you."
