Tricare Automated Data Processing Manual to be Re-published Electronically
Sent in by Veterans News and Information Services

The TRICARE Management Activity will re-publish its Automated Data Processing Manual electronically, at the end of May. The ADP Manual 6010.50M, May 1999, joins the recently re-published TRICARE Policy Manual in being published electronically as its primary method of distribution.

The TRICARE Management Activity (TMA) is in the process of re-engineering its text management systems so that all of its manuals will eventually be distributed electronically. Under this new process, changes to the re-published ADP Manual will be issued in two ways:

(1) Future change packages will be published individually in electronic format; and

(2) They will be incorporated automatically within the manual, as well. Changes will be published electronically as they are released.

Electronic publication of the TRICARE ADP Manual will provide enhanced searching, simplified printing and downloading, improved format, and availability of published change packages electronically.

Distribution of paper copies will be discontinued for both the new, re-published ADP manual and for published changes, for most recipients. For the time being, TRICARE contractors will continue to receive paper copies of the manuals, as dictated by their contracts.

Electronic publications, such as the TRICARE Policy Manual and ADP Manual, are available on the TRICARE home page, at

TRICARE Military Health System

For your convenience, TMA will be distributing notices via automated e-mail notification, to those users who require immediate notification, as electronic changes are published to the manuals on the Web site. To request automated notification, register your site at Tricare Manuals

If you feel that you still need a paper copy of the TRICARE ADP Manual and published change packages, you may submit a written request for consideration, justifying the need. E-mail your request to william.orchard@tma.osd.mil

Or write to:

William Orchard, Directives Manager,
TRICARE Management Activity,
16401 E. Centretech Pkwy.
Aurora, CO 80011-9043.

All requests must be submitted in writing.
