Section 643 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1998 requires the Secretary of Defense to conduct a review of Federal former spouse's protection laws and submit a report to Congress regarding the results of the review. One portion of the review requires DoD to gather the experiences of members and former members of the uniformed services, employees and former employees of the Government and their respective former spouses in the administration of the law and the application of the law by State courts. The intent of this WEB site is to provide interested members of the general public the opportunity to comment and provide general information concerning the review.
