Operation Just Cause
...for as long as it takes

Getting Involved With Operation Just Cause
by Laura Vella

I got involved in OJC because it is a wonderful organization, I am an EX-Navy nurse. My cousin was killed during the Vietnam War at the age of 17, he and approximately 365 other marines had just left California when the plane they were on went into the side of a mount ian, it was said to be sabotage. None of the people killed on the plane are on the wall, which is a disgrace since they were willing to go to Vietnam and fight, it was not there fault that people did not allow them to get there. The government has said that there names will be placed on the wall, but it has not happened yet. I was told by a friend at my local VFW that it is supposed to happen in the next 2 years, I am not holding my breath.

When my family discovered that he was not on the wall, they asked why not?, the answer they got was that you had to die in Vietnam , so if you got hurt and died some place else you didn't get put on the wall, or if you were stationed some place else but were involved with Vietnam you did not get placed on the wall, to me and my family that was and still is a bunch of crap. I am proud to be an American and I am proud to defend my country, but I will be damned if I will let my country take advantage of me and my fellow Americans in this callous and shameful way. The government owes us some explanations, not only on our men but on any living creature that served this country.

I am an animal lover and I found out some horrible things in regards to the military dogs we sent over there, and that was why I did a web page in titled Our Canine Heroes and Friends, take a look at it . After knowing what they have done( or not done) to our troops, I was shocked but not amazed to discover what they had done to the dogs. My believe is that if it is a living thing and can carry a rank and have a name then it should not be considered equipment. Well I could go on all day, but this was the jest of why I joined OJC.
