Whose chair is that, Mommie? Note: This was supposed to go into the December newsletter, but it did not reach deadline.
Shouldn't Santa's chair be red?
Grandma said , Dont sit there!
She cried, then turned her head.
The chair with the yellow ribbon
And a card that says just Bill
Explain it to me mommie
I don't think grandma will.
My child, you know it's Christmas
And every child comes home
Your grandma has another son
Who's far away and alone.
And so she sets a place for him
On every Christmas Day
She's done it since he went to war
For twenty-five years, he's been away
Uncle Bill's a POW
Right now he can't be free
So grandma sets a place for him
For all of us to see
It keeps him in our hearts ,we pray
His empty chair we'll fill
And so nobody sits there, son
Just grandma's love and Bill.
