Operation Just Cause
...for as long as it takes

The Massachusetts 54th Infantry
It was called a noble experiment. For the men of the Massachusetts 54th Infantry Regiment, it was a chance to refute their white skeptics. Their chance came when the 54th led the Civil War gallantry against Fort Black, the confederate stronghold at the mouth of the Charleston, South Carolina harbor. Almost 300 men were killed or wounded. The 54th had won the respect due a true fighting unit.
