LAST WISH
by Dianne Rierson

If I could have but one wish
Before my life is through
I know just what I'd wish for
And what I'd want to do.

I'd wish that I could travel
To a land of a distant shore.
I'd walk the soil that they walked
And know the pain they bore.

I've never been a one who
Was of the chosen few
But if I could have a last wish
Here is what I'd want to do.

I'd travel to a land called Nam
And search for you each day
And find a way to bring you home
And then to you I'd say.

I never have forgotten you
So please don't feel alone.
I'd spend my last wish I had
Wishing to bring you home.
