1. A child is born in Boston, Massachusetts to parents who were both born in Boston, Massachusetts. The child is not a United States citizen. How is this possible?
2. Where did the term "leathernecks" come from?

1 - The child was born before the United States was formed.
2 - The term "leatherneck" came from the band of leather worn around the necks of Marines, It was part of the uniform collar. It was to protect their necks during a sword fights.
